3. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Summary of Postdoc Project

Learning to read depends on a confluence of foundational skills. Some skills, such as phonological awareness, are known to be critical. However, the role of other factors – such as differences in visual processing and executive functions (EFs) – are still debated. The overarching goal of this project is to characterize consistency and heterogeneity in mechanisms associated with word reading difficulties (i.e., developmental dyslexia) using a deep phenotyping approach.

5. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Summary of Postdoc Project

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our project on developing user-centered AI agents in consumer settings. As AI agents become increasingly integrated into real-world consumer environments, it is essential to ensure these systems act in the best interests of users—faithfully interpreting user intent and taking responsible actions on their behalf. This project aims to advance the design and implementation of AI agents that prioritize user autonomy, consent, and benefit, while also delivering real-world impact and contributing to the development of cutting-edge agentic systems.

6. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Summary of Postdoc Project

This Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP)(link is external) funded project is in collaboration with the labs of Hervé Turlier (CIRB-CNRS) and Chema Martin (Queen Mary University of London). We will combine cell biology, biophysics and -omics approaches to study a unique mode of asymmetric cell divisions found in spiralian embryos: the formation of a cellular protrusion known as the “polar lobe”. This polar lobe is formed during cell division and is inherited by only one daughter cell, leading to asymmetries in both cell size and fate. Interestingly, this evolutionary innovation has independently arisen in multiple species, making it an ideal system for studying the origins of asymmetric divisions in evolution.

7. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Summary of Postdoc Project

We are an interdisciplinary research team integrating single-cell and spatial genomics, lineage tracing, synaptic proteomics, functional perturbation screening, and machine learning to investigate how the human brain develops diverse cell types and forms complex neural circuits. We are particularly interested in how these developmental programs are disrupted in neurodevelopmental disorders and brain tumors. Grounded in human biology and evolution, our work aims to uncover the molecular logic underlying human-specific neuronal differentiation and synaptic connectivity, with the goal of translating these insights into mechanistic understanding and therapeutic strategies.

8. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Summary of Postdoc Project

The Hynes Lab at Stanford University is seeking a curious and driven postdoctoral fellow to join us in the summer or fall 2025. Our research focuses on how RNA biology influences cell fate decisions, during during early neural development or during the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in cancer. Our recent work reveals that coding sequences (CDS) and their cognate 3’ untranslated regions (3’UTRs) are differentially expressed in development and disease. Notably, the Nanog 3’UTR functions as a long non-coding RNA to promote embryonic stem cell migration. In cancer, we have identified over 100 genes that shift from high 3’UTR to high CDS expression during EMT — with removal of the 3’UTR from one key gene significantly enhancing cancer cell migration.
